Great Lakes Water Polo is the Midwest's largest and most successful youth water polo club. Founded in 1999, GLWP has trained over 300 athletes and has placed numerous athletes on Midwest Zone, Michigan High School All-State and collegiate varsity teams. GLWP has also had three athletes represent the United States on National Youth teams.

GLWP offers both high school programs and "age group" programs for younger children. We have organized an all-new adult program to meet the needs of former players as well as those new to the sport. As stated in our mission statement (PDF 39K), Great Lakes Water Polo seeks to develop recognized club teams that proudly represent Michigan and northwest Ohio in state, regional, zone and national competition. Two competitions in which we regularly compete are the Speedo Cup and National Junior Olympics. GLWP and club members also join American Water Polo.  You can print the AWP form and register by mailing a check or use your credit card and join via their website.  Our club is also affiliated with  USA Water Polo.

U-M women's water polo coach Matt Anderson leads the GLWP coaching team; assistant coaches include current and former U-M players. Practices are held at U-M's Canham Natatorium.
